Man accused of fondling 12-year-old girl in Fargo pleads guilty to child abuseFARGO – A man accused of fondling a 12-year-old girl over her clothes in Fargo in January 2011 pleaded guilty Monday to a felony child abuse charge in Cass County District Court.
Henry Asaph Webster, 37, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and received credit for 137 days served in jail, Assistant State’s Attorney Ryan Younggren said.
Webster also must undergo a sexual assessment and follow through with treatment recommendations, but he won’t be required to register as a sex offender, Younggren said.
According to the police report, the 12-year-old victim said Webster, who was 36 at the time, touched her breasts and inner thigh area with an open hand over her clothing.
Webster was living and working in Cedar Rapids when he was arrested in October by a deputy U.S. marshal living there.
Webster was charged with gross sexual imposition, a Class A felony. He ended up pleaded guilty Monday to Class C felony child abuse or neglect.
