Survey: Flooded home rehab in Minot progressingMINOT, N.D. (AP) — A survey finds that nearly half of Minot homes that had main-floor damage during last summer's Souris River flooding are either rehabbed and occupied or close to being rebuilt.
Minot City Assessor Kevin Ternes says more than 1,140 homes should be usable by spring. That's 42 percent of the 2,716 homes with main-floor water damage. He says that's "a good step in the right direction."
The city survey did not include apartment buildings with four or more units or commercial buildings. Last year's flooding swamped more than 4,000 homes and businesses in North Dakota's fourth-largest city.
