Twin Cities man arrested, accused of throwing vise through windshield of moving carBLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Police have arrested a Bloomington man suspected of throwing a vise through the windshield of a moving car and breaking the driver's jaw.
Bloomington police said the 39-year-old man was arrested Friday.
On Monday, a metal vise was thrown through the windshield of a car traveling on Normandale Boulevard. The vise ricocheted off the steering wheel and broke the jaw of the driver, National Guard Sgt. Jon Stacke, knocking out several of his teeth.
It was the sixth time since Jan. 18 that a vehicle has been struck by a flying object along the busy four-lane road in Bloomington. But Monday night was the first time someone was hurt.
The Star Tribune reported that the man is in Bloomington police custody. It's not known if he's connected to the other cases.
