Midwest Minnesota Community Development Corp. of Detroit Lakes has received a capital grant of $125,000 from the Create Jobs for USA Fund, a collaboration between Starbucks and Opportunity Finance Network.
The money will help the development group create and sustain jobs in rural areas of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
The Create Jobs for USA Fund pools donations from Starbucks customers, partners or employees, and concerned citizens into a nationwide fund, held and managed by OFN for community business lending.
MCTC receives dental supply donation
The Moorhead Community & Technical College Foundation has received miscellaneous dental supplies valued at $1,023 from Fargo’s Cornerstone Dental Group.
The supplies will enhance training in the dental assisting program at Minnesota State Community and Technical College Moorhead.
Warp Speed Torque Drive receives grant
The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission has awarded Warp Speed Torque Drive of West Fargo a $26,000 grant.
The funds will be used to finalize a production model of a hybrid drive system, a retrofit kit for an Allison transmission.
APUC is a program of the North Dakota Department of Commerce that administers grant programs for researching and developing new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products.
Rape and Abuse center receives $2,000 grant
The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center has been awarded $2,000 from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America through its Domestic Hunger Program.
The funds will provide emergency assistance for individuals affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
