With helmet-cam video: Firefighters respond to north Fargo garage fire

FARGO – A fire in north Fargo that heavily damaged a garage Tuesday is still being investigated, according to a news release this afternoon from the Fargo Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a single-alarm fire at 3122 8th St. N. about 3:40 p.m., the release stated. A garage was engulfed by smoke and flames.

A teenager and child were home at the time of the fire, but escaped with their dog when they saw smoke coming from the garage.

No one was injured in the fire, which investigators say originated in the garage. The first firefighters on the scene reported small explosions in the garage, according to the news release.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross were on scene to assist the family.

The Fire Department released a helmet video from the fire this afternoon.
