Northern pike limits being increased in NDBISMARCK (AP) — Anglers in North Dakota will be able to catch and keep more northern pike during the upcoming fishing season.
The state Game and Fish Department says the daily limit is being increased from three fish to five, and the possession limit from six fish to 10. The change takes effect April 1.
Fisheries chief Greg Power says the state's pike fishery is in excellent shape, and the increases won't hurt the pike population. He says North Dakota has a record number of lakes with pike — many of them with record populations.
He says, "Pike anglers should be happy the next few years."
