Valley City tops snow totals with 5 inchesVALLEY CITY – This city was hardest hit by Monday’s snow event, with 5 inches of snowfall reported to the National Weather Service.
Several other cities in the Red River Valley and surrounding area reported 2 inches to just less than 5 inches of new snow.
Fargo-Moorhead received 3.5 inches, according to the weather service’s official observer in Moorhead.
Elsewhere in North Dakota, the weather service received reports of 4.5 inches in Cayuga; 4 inches in both Lidgerwood and two miles east of Gilby; 3.5 inches in Colgate and Havana; 2 inches three miles southeast of Cooperstown; and 1.5 inches in Lankin.
In Minnesota, observers reported 4.8 inches in Argyle; 3.5 inches in Sabin; 3.3 inches in Warroad; 2.3 inches in Detroit Lakes; 2.2 inches in Pelican Rapids; and 2.1 inches in Bemidji.
