Minot man sentenced in fatal 2010 North Dakota shootingMINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minot man found not guilty of murder in a shooting 1 ½ years ago has been sentenced to five years in prison on related charges.
The Minot Daily News reports that 25-year-old Jeremiah Tallman was sentenced Wednesday on felony burglary and reckless endangerment counts. He was given credit for the time he has spent behind bars since the July 2010 shooting death of 20-year-old Joseph Sanderson.
Tallman said he shot Sanderson in self-defense after a theft dispute involving several people.
