Sorensen's 22 points pace Cobbers past Gusties

MOORHEAD ¬¬– Tricia Sorensen picked up team highs of 22 points and three steals as Concordia topped Gustavus 64-56 on Wednesday in a battle between two of the top three teams in the women’s Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference basketball standings.

Sorensen, a junior forward, made 9 of 15 attempts from the field and also grabbed six rebounds.

Alexandra Lippert and Emily Thesing added 15 points and 10 points, respectively for the Cobbers, who limited Gustavus to under 37 percent shooting from the field.

The Gusties’ Molly Geske led all scorers with 23 points.

With the win, the third-place Cobbers improve to 14-7 in the MIAC with one game to play in the regular season.
