Rolla man dies after crash near LisbonLISBON, N.D. – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 56-year-old Rolla man died from injuries sustained in a crash late Saturday in Ransom County.
Don Bjugstad was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan southbound on County Road 54 from Sheldon to Lisbon at about 11:15 p.m. when he failed to stop at a stop-signed intersection at State Highway 27, about nine miles east of Lisbon, the patrol stated in a news release.
The van went through the intersection and into the south ditch, where it vaulted and struck a thicket of trees before coming to rest facing east, the release stated.
Bjugstad was airlifted to Essentia Health in Fargo, where he died Sunday morning. The van was totaled.
The crash remains under investigation. Road and weather conditions were clear at the time.
