Lind: Readers respond to some favorite stories
The story: Bobby Dale, a disc jockey on KFGO radio years ago.
Feedback: Lance Johnson, of the Johnson Organ Co., Moorhead, writes, “My mom and I used to listen to his (Bobby’s) Top 40 show in the late ’50s, and we agreed he was the greatest DJ ever in the Fargo-Moorhead area. He was interesting and funny.
“I saw him in person at one time and he now reminds me of (current TV personality) Drew Carey.”
The story: Jeanette Stone, who had served 31 years as a principal in the Fargo Public School system.
Feedback: Jeanette writes that she received “so many calls and letters in response to it (the story). It’s all been fun.”
Someone from Barnesville, Minn., also sent Neighbors a note saying, “Thank you so very much for the article on Jeanette Stone.
“I went to school at Carl Ben Eielson (one of Jeanette’s schools). I also was very sad (as was Jeanette) when they tore down (the old) Carl Ben. It was such a great school.”
The card is signed “Former student.”
