Fargo Star finds its final four singersAfter four weeks of your votes, all the Fargo Stars have aligned as the last four spots in the finals of our annual vocal showcase have been filled.
They’re occupied by these fine voices:
• Mehgan Ashmore, yes, the third Ashmore sibling joins her brother and sister in the Fargo Star finals.
• Andrew Donner, the North Dakota State University student who grew up in Moorhead brings his bright smile and acoustic guitar into the finals.
• Jill Samuelson, the former Fargo Star finalist (from 2008) who loves singing Martina McBride tunes returns for another chance at the title.
• Taylor Wall, the 17-year-old from Breckinridge, Minn., sang her way into the finals courtesy Adele’s blockbuster number “Rolling in the Deep.”
These four will be singing with Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome in the Fargo Star finals at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at The Venue at The Hub.
They’ll be joined by the other six finalists, who have been previously announced:
- Moonlight Aadland
- Christopher Ashmore
- Shelby Heimbuch
- Kennedy Kiser
- Steph Palanuk
- Jordan Thornberg
Congratulations to each of them.
And if you need a reminder on what these singers are competing for, aside from the glory of being the Fargo Star, they’ll vie for a price package that includes paid airfare to an audition of “American Idol” or “The Voice” and the opportunity to sing as an opening act for Javier Colon’s March 13 at the Fargo Theatre.
But first they have to wow the audience at the Fargo Star finals.
Fargo Star tickets
Speaking of the finals, tickets to the Feb. 25, event will go on sale Thursday morning through fargostar.areavoices.com.
Tickets will cost $5 in advance or at the door the day of the event.
The tickets get you into the Fargo Star finals, which will feature the 10 finalists and last year’s winner, Jenna Oestreich. But they also grant you access to a concert, following the finals, where Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome will provide a danceable soundtrack.
And while we aren’t suggesting Fargo Star will sell out in advance, we’re pretty sure a good chunk of the tickets will be gone as we’ve been receiving calls from people eager to get their tickets early.
If you’re one of them, check fargostar.areavoices.com Thursday to purchase your chance to see the Fargo Star.
