Officers were dispatched to the crash at about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of South Elm Street.
The driver of the 2008 Ford F-350 pickup, Lucas Smillie of Hamilton, N.D., lost control and left the roadway, striking a Moorhead Public Service utility pole, Lt. Joel Scharf said in a news release.
Smillie, who was alone in the pickup, was taken by F-M Ambulance to Sanford Medical Center, where he was admitted. He was arrested on suspicion of DWI, inattentive driving and open container.
Power has since been restored to the area.
