Hard rock band Chevelle to play Red River Valley FairWEST FARGO – The Red River Valley Fair is adding some rock ’n’ roll to its concert lineup with today’s announcement that Chevelle will play the West Fargo fair’s grandstand on Saturday, July 14.
Chevelle, a hard-edged rock trio from Chicago that’s been a rock radio staple since the early 2000s, joins the country group The Band Perry as the only announced headlining musical acts.
Bryan Schulz, the fair’s general manager, says in a news release that one of the reasons the fair targeted Chevelle was the Fargo-Moorhead community’s favor of the alternative hard rock style Chevelle plays, “We had a great crowd in 2011 when we had My Darkest Days and Sick Puppies on stage. We wanted to continue with this type of genre and continue to grow our fan base.”
The Chevelle show, like all the fair’s grandstand concerts, will be free with the paid $7 admission to the fair. The Red River Valley Fair is scheduled for July 10-15. The Band Perry will perform on July 11.
