Trade Talk: New digs for dog care business

Come Monday, Marcia Humphrey is moving Eddie and Barkus, what she describes as her “dog facility,” from its current location at 4035 40th Ave. S., in Fargo, to its new location at 3060 Thunder Road, in Fargo, near the Flying J Travel Plaza.

“It’s a dog facility for day care, grooming and overnight stay,” said Humphrey, referring the business she opened in 2006.

“We’ve outgrown this location, and we’re taking it up a bunch of levels,” Humphrey said of the move.

“We’re just making it bigger,” she added. “There’s going to be more outdoor play; there’s going to be a bigger (dog) hotel; there’s more area for grooming.”

The hours of the business are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Saturdays there is pick-up and drop-off at the hotel from 8 a.m. to noon and on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Humphrey plans to initiative some additional improvements following the move, but she’s staying quiet about details, for now.

“There will be new things coming,” she said.

Preschool opens

The Goddard School, a premier preschool child care center for infants and children up to 6 years old, has opened at 4665 44th Ave. S. in Fargo.

The new building was designed to accommodate about 140 children.

The school will offer flexible schedules from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The owner is Marsha Bittner.

Mariah Boyle is education director at the school where the curriculum encourages learning through play.

A new CVS store is set to open Sunday at the corner of 13th Avenue and 25th Street South in Fargo.

The business moved from a spot just across the parking lot in order to provide a larger, more convenient and accessible store for customers, according to a CVS spokesman.

The new store space will be 16,000 square feet, versus 10,000 square feet in the former site, which will be put up for sale.

Home Depot party

The Fargo Home Depot, 4700 17th Ave. S., is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this month, and the public is invited to the party.

On Jan. 28, the business will be serving up hot dogs and popcorn and hosting a children’s workshop.
