Man charged in Minnesota teen's fatal stabbing at pizza restaurantMONTEVIDEO, Minn. — A 24-year-old man is now charged with fatally stabbing an 18-year-old woman outside a Montevideo pizza restaurant where they both worked.
Darek Nelson was charged Tuesday in Chippewa County in the death of 18-year-old Vinessa Lozano of Montevideo.
Nelson is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault. KSAX-TV (http://bit.ly/yl1x75) reports he did not enter a plea.
Police were called Friday night to the Pizza Ranch and found Lozano on the ground and Nelson standing over her, holding a knife. Lozano died at a hospital after being stabbed more than 30 times.
According to the complaint, Nelson was upset when Lozano didn't show up at his house the weekend before to hang out.
Bail for Nelson was set at $750,000. His attorney did not immediately return a message Tuesday.
