West Fargo officer promoted to sergeantWEST FARGO – The West Fargo Police Department has selected one of its officers to fill an additional patrol sergeant position approved by the City Commission to help the department cope with the city’s growth.
Sgt. Jason Anderson was hired by the department in April 1998. He’s a graduate of Barnesville (Minn.) High School, attended North Dakota State University and transferred to Bemidji (Minn.) State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Police Chief Arland Rasmussen announced Anderson’s promotion in a news release Sunday.
Anderson was the first school resource officer for West Fargo Schools. He’s currently a defensive tactics instructor and part of the bike patrol unit. He also serves as an advisor for Citizens Police Academy and is a member of the Red River Regional SWAT Team, serving as a bomb technician for the past 11 years, Rasmussen said.
