Two injured in Becker County rollover

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – A man and his daughter were injured this morning when an SUV went off a frost-covered road in Becker County and rolled, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

John French, 59, of Ponsford, was driving a 2004 GMC Envoy on Highway 34 at about 7:35 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and it entered the ditch. The SUV struck a mailbox and driveway approach and rolled, coming to rest on its roof, the patrol stated in a news release.

French and his daughter, Carolyn French, 40, of Wolverton, were wearing their seat belts and were taken to St. Mary’s Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Detroit Lakes ambulance and fire crews assisted at the scene.
