Benefit date changed for Fargo womanFARGO – A benefit scheduled to help a 20-year-old woman left voiceless by cancer had to be changed due to a doctor’s visit.
A benefit for Kirstin Flick will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 17 at the VFW in West Fargo.
Flick had a laryngectomy in November to remove a cancerous tumor that had wrapped around her voice box.
She now breathes through a stoma in her neck and speaks with voice prosthesis.
Morgan Grumely has been organizing the benefit. She said Flick is scheduled to return to the Mayo Clinic for an appointment on the original date of the benefit.
Donations can be made at any Gate City Bank location to the Kirstin Flick Benefit Fund.
