Fargo Star extends deadline for video submissions

FARGO – Yeah, so the Fargo Star submission deadline was last Wednesday.

Thanks to everyone who entered. You’re awesome.

And for those of you who missed it, here’s some good news: We’re reopening the entry period.

Because some people were complaining that they didn’t have time over the busy holiday season to enter The Forum’s annual singing showcase, we will accept Fargo Star video submissions from right now until noon Thursday.

We’ve also scheduled another recording session at The Forum from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. That means that if you want us to record you singing (and, trust me, our videos are looking and sounding very good), show up to The Forum, 101 5th St. N. in Fargo, call (701) 241-5518 when you arrive, and we’ll escort you to our recording studio. It’s that simple. And if you want to sing over a karaoke track, bring an iPod or MP3 device with the track, and we’ll play it while you sing in the studio.

If you’d rather record your own video of yourself singing, just upload the video to YouTube and send the link of the video to FargoStar@forumcomm.com. Be sure to include your name, the title of the song you’re singing and some contact information.

You can sing any song – as long as it doesn’t have lewd or crude language – you can have a karaoke backing track, and you can use instrumental accompaniment.

And if you have any questions about Fargo Star, call me at (701) 241-5518 or email me at rmorast@forumcomm.com.

We’ll start the Fargo Star voting process next week, so be sure to read The Forum and Inforum.com to find out all the details.
