Fugitive Focus: Didymus Thomas Morsette
Local and federal authorities are seeking to apprehend a 33-year-old Horace, N.D., man who is wanted on a charge of aggravated assault in connection with a domestic violence incident.
Didymus Thomas Morsette faces a Class C felony charge in Cass County District Court for allegedly throwing his cellphone at his 11-year-old daughter and breaking her nose on Dec. 5.
According to a Fargo police report, the daughter arrived at school with a bloody nose and said she had been in an argument with Morsette at her Fargo home.
Her report drew an investigation by Cass County Social Services and Fargo police.
The police report states that the girl said her father threw his cellphone at her during the argument.
The phone struck the bridge of her nose, causing her left nostril to bleed profusely. A visit to Essentia Health revealed her nose was broken.
The daughter told authorities she didn’t believe Morsette intended to strike her with the phone.
Morsette denied throwing the phone and said she received the injury when she walked into the door frame of his bedroom.
However, Morsette’s sister told authorities she saw him washing the girl’s nose “while telling her five times that he was sorry,” the report states.
Court records show a warrant for Morsette’s arrest was issued Dec. 27.
Morsette’s criminal history in North Dakota almost exclusively involves traffic violations.
Most of those crimes include misdemeanor convictions for driving with a suspended license, court records show.
