Lind: The family that rhymes together stays together

Here’s a family with a poetic story. This comes from Valborg “Vollie” Eppler, Hawley, Minn.

She writes that her grandfather, John Hillestad, and his brother Martin came from Norway and then both got married, John to a woman named Stina, Martin to Lena.

John and Stina had six sons. They included Oscar, of Hitterdal, Minn., who married a woman named Tina, and Bill, of Kindred, N.D., who married Gina.

So the family included four women whose names rhymed: Stina, Lena, Tina and Gina.

You could almost put this family’s history to music.
