Hawley man arrested after punching officerHAWLEY, Minn. – A 24-year-old Hawley man was arrested Monday afternoon after punching a police officer here.
Nicholas Lee Vigesaa is charged in Clay County District Court with fourth-degree assault of a peace officer.
According to court documents, Clay County sheriff’s deputies were called out to a residence in rural Hawley Dec. 7 around 1 p.m. on a report of a suicidal man with a gun.
A deputy entered the residence and found Vigesaa sitting in a chair, with one of his hands concealed. When the deputy ordered Vigesaa to show his hands, Vigesaa allegedly stood up, walked over and punched the deputy in the face.
Vigesaa was then tased and taken into custody.
