Authorities arrest Moorhead trailer park shooting suspect in Texas
U.S. Marshals tracked Geraldo Torres – formerly of Moorhead – to Lubbock, Texas.
At about 5:30 p.m. he was arrested there without incident at the home of his mother, Evangelina Alonzo, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
A Clay County warrant was issued for Torres’ arrest charging him with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault and three other felonies after an April 27 shooting.
The shooting occurred shortly after 9 p.m. in the Regal Estates trailer park northeast of the intersection of U.S. Highways 10 and 75.
Torres is accused of firing a handgun four times at the driver of a vehicle who had nearly struck the car of the suspected shooter earlier in the evening, according to a passenger in the tan Buick Torres was driving that night.
Court records don’t identify whom Torres allegedly shot at.
Torres will be held at the Lubbock County Detention Center to await court proceedings.
