Clay to offer holiday light recycling program

MOORHEAD – Clay County is partnering with the Recycling Association of Minnesota and Becker County to offer Recycle Your Holidays, a program to collect old or nonworking holiday lights.

Clay County residents can drop off unwanted holiday light strands through December at the Moorhead Transfer Station at 2727 Highway 10 East.

Drop-off sites are also located at the recycling centers in Dilworth, Glyndon, Barnesville, Hawley and Hitterdal and at the Clay County Landfill.

One goal of the program is to encourage residents to make the switch to energy-efficient LED holiday lights. Donated lights will be recycled.
