Fugitive Focus: Korey Michael Bueng
Local and federal authorities are seeking to apprehend a 26-year-old Fargo man who is wanted after a domestic violence incident Oct. 1 with his girlfriend.
Korey Michael Bueng faces a Class C felony charge for interfering with an emergency phone call and a class B misdemeanor for simple assault.
Fargo police said Bueng and Audrey Johnson had a verbal argument that ultimately turned physical.
According to a Fargo police report:
Bueng told Johnson he wanted to break up with her and then tried to retreat to the back bedroom.
Johnson allegedly followed Bueng and “hit him multiple times in the back of the head with an open hand,” the report states.
When Bueng tried to close the bedroom door, Johnson allegedly perched herself in between the door and its frame while holding the couple’s young child in one arm.
Bueng told police Johnson lost her balance and fell on her butt.
Johnson then told Bueng she wanted to call the police, but Bueng took her cellphone from her and removed the battery.
Bueng said he did so to prevent Johnson from making the call so she could “calm down.”
At the scene, police said Bueng had a small scratch about the size of a pencil tip on his left hand.
Johnson “did not have any fresh signs of physical injury,” according to the report.
Police also recommended Johnson face a simple assault charge in connection with the incident, but no case has been filed in Cass County District Court.
According to court records, Bueng has a history of felony convictions involving theft, marijuana possession and possessing a firearm as a felon.
