Fugitive Focus suspect arrested in West Fargo

WEST FARGO – A man wanted for allegedly firing a shotgun into his own home and a .45 caliber pistol round into another was arrested by West Fargo police earlier this week, Assistant Chief Mike Reitan said Friday.

Brad Lee Trautman, 37, was arrested at his home without incident at 7:20 p.m. Monday on a Cass County felony warrant, Reitan said.

Trautman’s case had been profiled Monday in The Forum’s weekly “Fugitive Focus” column.

He was released Wednesday after posting his own bond, a Cass County Jail spokesman said.

Trautman, 408 10th Ave. NW, was wanted on a Class C felony charge of reckless endangerment.

His wife told police he had been behaving erratically Aug. 5, an affidavit by West Fargo Police Detective Trent Stanton said.

Trautman then allegedly shot three shotgun rounds through a window screen at his home, the affidavit said. Another person living in the area reported a bullet had been shot through one of his windows.

The affidavit said Trautman admitted on Oct. 26 that he had fired both weapons from his home.
