Moorhead pet licenses available to shoppers

MOORHEAD – Pet owners here will be able to pick up licenses while shopping through the month of December.

Police volunteers will be selling 2012 pet licenses from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays beginning Saturday. The dates and locations are as follows:

All dogs and cats over 6 months of age must be licensed annually with the city by no later than Feb. 15 of each year. Pet license fees are $2 for spayed/neutered pets and $5 if not spayed/neutered.

Owners of unlicensed animals face a no-license fee of $50. Moorhead pet owners can also purchase their pet licenses online at www.moorheadpolice.com under “E-Services” or in person at the Moorhead Police Department from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition to purchasing 2012 pet licenses, parents can have their child fingerprinted and sign up to receive Code Red Weather Alerts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moorhead Center Mall fountain area.
