FARGO – If you haven’t considered entering this year’s Fargo Star singing showcase, you really should. Because it’s going to be the biggest Fargo Star yet, and time is running out to enter.
The Forum’s annual vocal talent showcase has always attracted some of the area’s most remarkable singers. But this year we’ll be featuring them in more dynamic ways.
For starters, all who come to The Forum to record their submission videos will be treated to quick sessions in our studio with our newsroom multimedia producer – he’ll make you sound as good as you can. And while singers are still allowed to sing a cappella, we’ve also decided to record people with instrumental backing tracks.
We’ll be conducting recording sessions from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at The Forum, 101 5th St. N., Fargo. Call (701) 241-5518 when you arrive, and we’ll let you in the building. And if you want to sing to a backing track, bring an iPod or MP3 device with the track, and we’ll plug it into our sound system.
As for the theme of bigger and better, this year’s Fargo Star finals will also be an improvement as each of the 10 finalists will be performing with a live backing band during the finals at The Venue at The Hub Feb. 25. We’ll have more details as the weeks approach, but believe us when we say it’s going to be pretty cool.
But the only way to get there is to enter now. So come to tonight’s recording session at The Forum. If you can’t make it, we’ll have additional Forum tapings on Nov. 30 and Dec. 5. They are open to all ages.
There will also be recording sessions at Divas and Rockstars karaoke bar, 1410 9th St. E., West Fargo, from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 1, 8, and 15. But these will only be open to those ages 21 and over.
And if you’d rather record yourself and send us a link to the YouTube video, the deadline is Dec. 28. As always, call us at (701) 241-5518 if you have any questions about Fargo Star. But keep in mind that the time to enter is fading fast, and you can’t win if you don’t enter.
