Moorhead crash blamed on medical condition

MOORHEAD – Police say a Stephen woman whose car crashed into a wall of apartment garages Sunday in south Moorhead died as a result of a medical condition, not from the crash.

Anna Marie Sang, 51, was pronounced dead Sunday evening at Essentia Health in Fargo, police said.

The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. when Sang was heading south on 34th Street near the Meadows Golf Course.

Police believe Sang experienced a medical condition that caused her car to travel out of control for about 1,847 feet, striking two light poles and ramming into a row of apartment garages, heavily damaging the garage’s west side wall as well as vehicles inside the garage.

The crash caused significant damage to a boat and two vehicles inside the garage at the time of the crash. Some debris caught fire but was quickly extinguished, police said.

An autopsy won’t be performed, Lt. Tory Jacobson said, noting Sang wasn’t injured as a result of the crash.
