Minot proposes diversion plan for Souris RiverMINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot officials are proposing a flood diversion plan for the Souris River.
The idea announced Friday would divert the river through channels at two locations. Officials have scheduled public meetings Tuesday to discuss details of the proposal.
Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman tells the Minot Daily News that it's important for the city to look at all viable options for flood control.
The swollen river inundated much of Minot earlier this year, flooding more than 4,000 homes and businesses.
