Women’s leadership luncheon raises $18KFARGO – The annual United Way of Cass-Clay women’s leadership luncheon held Oct. 26 at the Holiday Inn here raised more than $18,000 for local early childhood education.
The event featured keynote speaker Liz Murray who shared her “Homeless to Harvard” story and included a Purses Plus silent auction. With more than 600 tickets sold, the event marked the largest event in the history of United Way of Cass-Clay.
Proceeds specifically support United Way-funded programs such as Imagination Library which sends free books to more than 8,000 local children ages 0-5 per month as well as kindergarten-readiness programs such as Keys to Kindergarten and Gearing Up for Kindergarten.
