Hires and Promotions (November 12, 2011)Two new providers at Essentia Health in Fargo
Essentia Health has added Dr. Stephen Linn in the obstetrics and gynecology department and family nurse practitioner Cynthia Pallesen has joined the emergency medicine department, both at the 32nd Avenue South Campus in Fargo.
Linn was born and raised in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School. He attended the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, for his pre-medical and medical school education and completed an OB/GYN residency at the Phoenix Integrated Residency of Obstetrics/Gynecology.
He was most recently in private practice in Prescott, Ariz., and also worked for the Maricopa Medical Center Residency Program, Phoenix.
Linn focuses on normal and high-risk obstetrics, gynecologic surgery and infertility evaluation and treatment.
Palleson previously worked as a family nurse practitioner at Avera Medical Group facilities in Aberdeen and Webster, S.D. She received a master’s degree in nursing at South Dakota State University, Brookings.
She has more than 20 years of experience as a registered nurse in a variety of hospital and clinical settings and also has a background as an ambulance transfer RN and was a former U.S. Army Nurse Corps reservist.
Technology, marketing firm in Fargo hires four
Sundog in Fargo has hired David Dick as an associate data analyst, David Stone as a senior business analyst, Greg Ewing-Lee as a business analyst and Craig Isakson as a software engineer.
Cooper promoted to private banker
Charles Cooper has been named private banker in the Wells Fargo office in Fargo.
He most recently was a senior business relationship manager for business banking in Fargo. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2003, he worked as a financial adviser for Waddell & Reed.
A native of Groton, S.D., Cooper earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and finance and a master’s degree in business administration, both from North Dakota State University.
Three hired at Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson offices
Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson, an engineering, surveying and planning firm, has hired Mitch Rufer as a CADD Tech I with the survey group, and Jimmy Thistle as a project engineer III with the telecommunications group, both in Fargo.
John Wirries has been hired as a civil engineer II with the municipal group in the Moorhead office.
Rufer earned an associate degree in mechanical/architectural drafting from Lake Area Technical Institute, Watertown, S.D. He has two years of related work experience and previously worked as a drafter for Wurth Electronics Midcom, Watertown.
Thistle earned an associate degree in electronics from Northwestern Institute of Electronics, Columbia Heights, Minn. He has 35 years of experience working as a design engineer for various engineering contractors.
Wirries graduated from North Dakota State University with a master’s degree in civil engineering and earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. He previously worked for 14 years as an engineer for Moore Engineering, West Fargo, and served for six years as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
Obermiller Nelson hires electrical engineer
Tony Nelson has joined Obermiller Nelson Engineering in Fargo as an electrical engineer.
Nelson is a graduate of North Dakota State University and has more than seven years of electrical engineering experience.
Bajwa named NDSU department chairwoman
Sreekala Bajwa has been named chairwoman of North Dakota State University’s Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
Bajwa is currently an associate professor of agricultural engineering at the University of Arkansas and will start her new appointment Feb. 29.
She earned a doctorate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and joined the University of Arkansas in 2001.
Her research topics include remote sensing, agricultural air quality, water quality, precision agriculture and biofiber composites.
Matzke joins Summit Group as account exec
Summit Group Software in West Fargo has hired Dan Matzke as an account executive.
Matzke previously worked at Corporate Technologies and most recently at High Plains Technology.
Three new hires at Park Christian School
Park Christian School in Moorhead has hired Richelle Richardson as office manager and administrative assistant, Carol Harmelink as a receptionist and Judy Hultin as communications assistant.
Richardson received a master’s degree in sport studies from Bemidji (Minn.) State University and a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Iowa State University. She was previously employed as a K-8 physical education teacher at Schoolcraft Learning Community, Bemidji.
Harmelink is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology. She previously worked as a medical technologist in Iowa.
A graduate of Bismarck Junior College with an associate degree in commercial arts, Hultin worked for 22 years as a graphic designer for Express Press and Ink Inc., and most recently was assistant director of the Emergency Food Pantry, Fargo.
Cornerstone Bank hires Crandall as analyst
Cornerstone Bank in Fargo has hired Holly Crandall as a credit analyst.
Crandall has more than 27 years of commercial underwriting and credit analyst experience. She has a master’s degree in business from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Coldwell Banker names new sales associate
Darlene Donaldson has joined Coldwell Banker First Realty in Fargo as a sales associate in the residential real estate division.
Boub named president of BW Insurance Agency
Mike Boub, national sales manager for BW Insurance Agency, has been named president of the Fargo-based insurance agency.
Boub joined the bank in 1998 as a sales manager for Community First Insurance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Community First National Bank. Bank of the West acquired Community First National in 2004.
He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from South Dakota State University, and graduated from the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at Furman University in South Carolina.
Boub succeeds Tom Anderson, who retired this fall.
Nohr, Tyson join Family HealthCare Center
BreAnn Nohr has joined the Family HealthCare Center in Fargo as a dental assistant, and Andrew Tyson has joined the center as a lifestyle health coach in the lifestyle medicine department.
Nohr will work primarily out of FHC’s dental clinic at the Family Service Center in Moorhead. She is a graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead.
Tyson is a member of AmeriCorps and a nursing student at North Dakota State University. He is also a licensed massage therapist and teaches tai chi.
Phoenix hires Mohl, Ries as engineers
Phoenix International A John Deere Co., Fargo, has hired Trent Mohl as a mechanical design engineer and Matt Ries as a current product design engineer.
Mohl received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and Ries received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, both from North Dakota State University.
Two new employees hired at Ulteig in Fargo
Brian Duenow has joined Ulteig in Fargo as a project manager, and Josh Stokes joins the company in Fargo as a CADD technician I.
Duenow graduated from the University of Mary with a bachelor’s degree in management. He was previously employed with Border States Electric as an inventory planner.
Stokes has an associate degree in engineering CAD technology from Lake Superior College. He was previously employed with Porky’s Building Supply as a sales associate.
Dakota CDC hires Schwartz, Odland
Dakota Certified Development Corp., Fargo, has hired Shea Schwartz as a loan servicing assistant and Emily Odland as a loan and executive assistant.
Schwartz graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a business administration degree. She has customer service and loan servicing experience
Odland recently moved to the Fargo area from Washington state and is originally from Wakonda, S.D. She has previous lending and administrative experience.

Discovery Benefits in Fargo has hired Ryan Schmoll as client manager and Teri Winkelman as a consumer services specialist.
Also recently hired were Alyssa Ludwig and Jill Ryttie as participant services specialists.
Rick Electric promotes Moe to project manager

Moe has been with the firm since 1993 and was previously a foreman electrician.
