Mayville State gets $1M for scholarshipsA $1 million endowment, the largest donation in the school’s history, will yield about $45,000 a year for scholarships that will go to non-traditional students at Mayville State University.
Up to $7,500 – one-half of the estimated annual cost of attending MSU – could be awarded to a student.
The criteria include being 25 or older, having a financial need, being full time and living on campus and volunteer experience. Women will be preferred.
Though the donor is an MSU graduate and the gift is called “The Nelson Family Endowed Scholarship,” the school didn’t disclose the benefactor’s identity.
