Police continue to investigate robberies, work with businesses to be proactiveFARGO – As police here continue to investigate a string of armed robberies, they’re also working to prevent future crimes.
Police Chief Keith Ternes said at a news conference today that he is working with other police chiefs and sheriffs in Cass and Clay counties to take a proactive approach to the recent robberies.
However, Ternes emphasized that the recent string of four armed robberies is an “anomaly.”
Ternes said officials will work with businesses to help them bolster their security systems and take other prevention measures.
Police have two suspects in custody in connection with last Wednesday’s robbery of the Stop-N-Go at 602 23rd St. S.
Steven Daniel Gibson surrendered at 7:45 p.m. Monday at the Cass County Jail.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mason Peet on Saturday in connection with the robbery.
Both are in the Cass County Jail.
Ternes said police have also linked Peet to the robbery of Royal Liquors, although he has not yet been charged.
Police continue to forward reports to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office, Ternes said.
