Cobbers survive scare from St. Benedict in volleyball

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – No. 9 Concordia earned a 23-25, 25-12, 21-25, 25-20, 15-7 win over St. Benedict in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball on Saturday.

With the win, Concordia earns a share of the MIAC regular-season championship, the team’s first since 2006.

The Cobbers also clinch the No. 1 seed in the MIAC playoff tournament. Concordia will host a semifinals match 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Jenna Green posted 22 kills to lead the Cobbers (23-3, 10-1).

Katie Vohnoutka added 12 kills for Concordia.

Concordia’s loss in the first set snapped a streak of 30 consecutive set victories.
