Alleged Wahpeton stabber to make first court appearanceWAHPETON, N.D. – A 23-year-old man charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of a Wahpeton woman on Friday is slated to make his first court appearance this morning.
Patrick Wayne Wolfgram is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. in front of Judge Richard Grosz in Richland County District Court.
The Class A felony charge against Wolfgram accuses him of stabbing 26-year-old Trista Martin several times in the back, neck and head, causing “severe wounds and a large loss of blood.”
Martin was listed in satisfactory condition Monday at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The stabbing was reported at 2:58 a.m. in front of Community Homes in the 1600 block of Eighth Street North. Police arrived and found Martin lying in the street with multiple stab wounds.
Wolfgram and Martin both live in the housing complex but didn’t appear to have any kind of relationship, other than being neighbors, prior to the incident, Police Chief Scott Thorsteinson has said.
Wolfgram is being held in the Richland County Jail on $500,000 bond. He did not yet have an attorney Monday.
