Morast: Explaining the calendar situation

Some readers might be searching this section – or even the rest of the paper – looking for the Sunday to Sunday events calendar that was previously published in the Sunday Life section.

Well, it’s no longer in the Sunday Forum.

When we were plotting our new format, we made the decision to keep the bulk of the event calendars in the Variety section. And since the Variety section is only published Mondays through Fridays, that meant sacrificing the Sunday calendar.

Since our content shift, we’ve been hearing from various readers who miss the Sunday calendar and the ability to find a week’s worth of event listings on one page. Other readers wonder where they can find similar content.

The bulk of it is still in The Forum.

In the Monday Variety section, we run a calendar listing events that take place Mondays through Wednesdays. And on Thursdays, we run a calendar in the Variety section that compiles events that take place Thursdays through Sundays.

This is all information that ran in the Sunday to Sunday calendar. It’s still in the paper. And it’s all still online at inforum.com.

The one portion of the Sunday calendar that isn’t currently part of our printed calendars is the arts listing – which was the continuous list of exhibits at Fargo-Moorhead museums. That is gone, but we will still be listing art openings, receptions and special art events in our calendars.

As always, change is a fluid thing, and we will adapt to situations as they arise. Given that, we want to hear your thoughts on our calendars. If you feel like sharing some opinions, please contact me via the below information.
