Clay County’s Green earns state awardMOORHEAD – Bryan Green, a lieutenant with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, has been named State Director of the Year by the Association of Minnesota Emergency Managers.
Green received the award Sept. 20. The sheriff’s office will recognize him for the award at 8:30 this morning during the Clay County Commission meeting at the county courthouse.
The sheriff’s office, along with other state, county and city officials, nominated Green for the award. As Clay County’s emergency manager, he’s been a leader in recent spring flood fights.
The statewide association has 500 emergency management professionals, including county and city emergency managers from around the state.
The State Director of the Year award is presented for outstanding performance by a director or coordinator in furthering the objectives of emergency management in their jurisdiction and/or the association and emergency management in Minnesota, according to a news release from Sheriff Bill Bergquist.
