Richland County crash leaves 1 dead, 1 injuredWALCOTT, N.D. – A 52-year-old Walcott man was killed early Thursday after another driver collided with his vehicle in Richland County.
The accident was reported at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Richland County Road 3 and 59th Street Southeast, about 4 miles northwest of Walcott.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol:
Tom Osier was northbound on County Road 3 on his way to Kindred when a Geo Tracker traveling eastbound on 59th Street slammed at an angle into the driver’s side of Osier’s Honda passenger vehicle.
The Geo Tracker was driven by 51-year-old Joseph C. Goldberg Jr., also of Walcott.
Both men’s vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in the northeast ditch of the intersection after the crash.
Osier was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
Goldberg, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by LifeFlight to Essentia Health in Fargo with injuries that weren’t life threatening.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Walcott is about 25 miles southwest of Fargo.
