Fargo Bombers trump West Fargo Aces

FARGO – Jacob Salentine had two hits and three RBIs Friday at Jack Williams Stadium. His effort helped spark the Fargo Bombers to a 15-2 American Legion baseball victory over the West Fargo Aces in loser-out play at the Mid-States Junior Legion Regional tournament.

Brett Meers went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Bombers. Andrew Beyer, Andrew Grieve, Seth Amundson and Gunnar Linstaedt each added two RBIs.

Matt Barclay went 2-for-3 for the Aces, who were eliminated from the double-elimination tournament.

The Bombers play Salina (Kan.) at 11:30 a.m. today in loser-out play.

Moorhead 13, Mandan 6

Calvin Honl, Peter McFarlane and Leif Johnson each drove in two runs to lead the Golds to victory in loser-out play.

Moorhead erupted for six runs in the seventh inning to put the game away. Honl allowed six runs (three earned) in five innings to pick up the victory.

Jordan Leingang and Zach Scott each had two hits for Mandan.

Minnetonka 3, Salina 1

Jared Ridge pitched seven solid innings to lead Minnetonka to victory in the winner’s bracket.

Ridge allowed two hits, struck out six and walked three to earn the complete-game victory. Ridge also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Logan Driscoll went 1-for-2 and had the only RBI for Salina. Keenad Breen went seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits.

Westphalia 11, Wayzata 5

First baseman Seth Lehmen went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to propel Westphalia (Mo.) to victory on Friday.

Joe Hubert had a double and two RBIs for Wayzata.

CJ O’Brien chipped in with two RBIs for Westphalia.
