Missing Mahnomen, Minn., man found bloody along river, downstream from his shoes and wallet

MAHNOMEN, Minn. – A man reported missing from his home was found bloody along the river near here Wednesday.

Mahnomen County Sheriff Doug Krier said in a news release that White Earth Tribal Police asked his office to help search for Kevin Bruce Jackson around 6:45 p.m.

Jackson, 40, of Ponsford, was last seen at about 2 a.m. Wednesday in the city of Mahnomen.

Jackson had not returned home, and his wallet and shoes were found on the Wild Rice River bank in the city.

Around 8:20 p.m., a report of a bloody male downstream along the river came in. The man was identified as Jackson and taken by ambulance to Mahnomen County Health Center.

“They believe he was having a medication issue and was kind of disoriented,” Chief Deputy Brady Burnside said.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Valley Water Rescue, Minnesota State Patrol and state Department of Natural Resources assisted.
