Ransom County advises no travel on gravel roads as rain causes washoutsLISBON, N.D. – The Ransom County Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists not to drive on county gravel roads because of runoff from heavy rainfall flowing over the roads and causing washouts.
“Basically, there’s no travel advised off of pavement,” Sheriff Darren Benneweis told The Forum.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain had fallen since this morning, and it was still coming down at about 3:40 p.m., Benneweis said.
Paved county roads remain open, he said.
