Man accused of trying to start garbage can on fire, break into building at Pepsi Soccer ComplexFARGO – Police say an intoxicated man who had been at RibFest Thursday night allegedly tried to start a garbage can on fire and break into a building at the Pepsi Soccer Complex in north Fargo.
A passerby reported seeing a male trying to start a fire in a garbage can at about 12:30 a.m. today, Lt. Joel Vettel said.
Officers didn’t find anyone when they arrived at the scene, but there was evidence someone had tried to start a fire and break into the complex’s main building, Vettel said.
The department’s new police dog, Kimber, handled by K-9 Officer David Cochran, tracked the suspect to a nearby tree line, where he was found hiding behind a storage building, Vettel said.
Ian Lundquist, 23, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and endangering by fire.
