Water main break floods Fargo underpass
Fargo Director of Operations Ben Dow said the water main break reported about 5:30 a.m. today was on a 12-inch pressurized line, which was more significant than a typical water main break.
The area affected was Sixth Avenue North between Eighth and 10th streets, he said.
The 10th Street underpass was flooded until about 8 a.m. today, Dow said.
A significant amount of water was drained from the water tower at Sixth Avenue and 11th Street, he said.
Crews will be working on the water main for about six hours today, Dow said.
Sixth Avenue will need some repairs due to the damage caused by the water pressure.
“It should have little impact, just on the local area traffic,” Dow said.
