Minot allows half of flood evacuees back to homesMINOT, N.D. – Minot officials say about half of the 10,000 residents who were evacuated due to flooding are being allowed back in their homes.
Mayor Curt Zimbelman says it’s not clear when all residents will be allowed to return. He says it depends on access into neighborhoods, river levels and weather forecasts.
Zimbelman on Tuesday ordered the evacuation of residents near the Souris River.
Zimbelman told the Minot Daily News on Saturday that allowing more residents back into their homes is a step toward “normality.”
