Oak Grove hires Moorhead man as president; Slette is former Microsoft exec
Slette will be the school’s eleventh president. He officially begins in mid-June, the school announced.
Slette, a Moorhead resident, is co-owner of Great Outcomes Consulting, LLC, a consulting practice focusing on small to medium-sized for-profit and non-profit organizations. The firm gives guidance and coaching for strategic planning, organizational development and creating high-performance cultures.
“I am very excited to join the Oak Grove community. The school has a strong tradition built on blending academics, faith, and service which really drew me to the role. It’s as though I’ve accepted a position and gained a family all at the same time,” Slette said.
“Mr. Slette brings a breadth of experiences to Oak Grove Lutheran School,” says Roger Olson, chairman of the Board of Regents. “He is a man of deep faith who will only strengthen Oak Grove’s mission and vision. We look forward to his expertise and guidance as the school continues to positively impact the lives of students in the metro area.”
From 1982 to 2001, Slette was a team member at Great Plains Software in Fargo in a variety of roles. He served as vice president of finance, vice president of business development and legal affairs, and the vice president of human resources. From 2001 to 2009, he was part of the Microsoft Fargo team as a director of human resources and director of university relations.
Slette graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in business administration – accounting.
Slette takes over the leadership role from Dr. Marilyn J. Guy, who has served as the school’s interim president since 2009. Oak Grove has had 10 presidents and four interim presidents during its existence.
