Suspect dies after crash while fleeing Minneapolis policeMINNEAPOLIS — A suspect has died after a crash while fleeing Minneapolis police.
Police say officers responded to an assault call Wednesday night, and saw the suspects in a car near 30th Avenue South and Lake Street East.
Police say the driver fled, but the chase did not reach excessive speeds. The suspect did not stop at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Lake Street — and was hit by two vehicles.
The driver who fled was wanted for being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. He died at the hospital. The front seat passenger is wanted in a narcotics case, and will be booked after he's released from the hospital. Conditions on the back seat passengers weren't available.
The two people in the other cars had non-life-threatening injuries.
