Northern Cass wins engineering competitionHUNTER, N.D. - Students from Northern Cass High School were named Best in State winners in North Dakota’s Junior Engineering Technical Society’s 2011 TEAMS competition.
The event was hosted by the North Dakota State University and University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, engineering colleges.
Students worked to solve the global energy “supply and demand” problem highlighted by the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill and current events in the Middle East.
The purpose of TEAMS is to encourage more American students to pursue engineering by showing them how engineering impacts everyday life and how engineers help solve social and community problems such as building roads and bridges, developing water purifications systems for developing countries, and inventing alternative sources of energy to fuel our cars and keep our homes warm and cool.
