NDSU schedules Kansas State for 2013 football game

North Dakota State is going back to the state of Kansas for a Division I Football Bowl Subdivision game. The Bison and Wildcats signed a contract to play a 2013 game in Manhattan, Kan.

The Bison defeated the University of Kansas 6-3 to open last season. The Division I Football Championship Subdivision Bison will get a $350,000 guarantee from Kansas State.

It’s generally what NDSU has received in the past for FBS games. NDSU athletic director Gene Taylor said talks with Kansas State began about a year ago and the $350,000 is based on what other schools get from the likes of a Big 12 Conference school.

Kansas State also fits the philosophy for NDSU and its FBS “buy” game. Taylor likes to schedule games in or around the Midwest.
